Permalink Wow, this week has been incredible for the band. We started by finishing off the electric guitars for the EP, cannot explain how HUGE its sounding!!Since then we’ve been cracking on with vocals! Its interesting how we’re each suited to a different mic. Dave - AKG414, Prowse - Neumann M149, Me (Frazer) - Neumann u87. Routed them through the Avalon and then the 1176 for some nice outboard compression on the way in (not too much though, save that for the mix). Just one more day left in the studio, just got to finish the BVs (backing vocals) and add extra bits like synths and percussion etc. Last night we played in the university BOTB, we were really bricking it. A mixture of us playing awfully in the soundcheck, that combined with how fucking awesome local band ‘Escape Artist’ are. Needless to say, we absolutely NAILED our performance. Alright we may not have played perfectly at times but it was a proper performance. After watching all the bands, it was clear it was between us and EA…we won by just two votes!!Onto the final we role, can’t wait :D
